Pain Melts Away

How long will this pain keep going?
I guess it’s my fault for choosing this,
but maybe it was just something I was born with—
a price I was meant to pay.

Safe Area

There are times when I can suddenly go to a place that, no matter how much I search for it, I usually can’t find.
It’s like a safe area you stumble upon by chance while trudging back after giving up on searching for the light of tomorrow, which you just can’t seem to find.

When I open the door, the dry sound of a bell is followed by the gentle sound of waves.
Square stars are twinkling, and there’s almost no wind.
The distant horizon is clear, and geometric textures overlay the waterside.
…
There’s no one there.
But it feels like a place where you might meet someone.

I remembered.
I was sure that place was a fantasy world I had created in my imagination, but in reality, it was a place I used to visit many times as a child.

Shhhh… … …
Even back then, when I opened the door, the synthesized bell sound would ring, and soon after, I’d hear the sound of waves.
The palm trees stood in clusters, and for some reason, a rusted submarine sat comfortably, half-submerged in the shallows.

I couldn’t hear my own footsteps, and when I looked around, there was no one to be seen.
But faintly, in a fleeting moment, it felt like I might meet someone.
That place is my favorite. Whenever time allows, I spend my moments there, painting.

If your time allows, I’d love for you to come someday, when you feel like it.
We won’t need to exchange words, but I’m sure you’ll like it…
